The Nebraska State Assembly of the Association of Surgical Technologists, Inc. (NESA) is the State and Local branch of the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) The NESA represents all Surgical Technologists in Nebraska, however only those who are active, meaning Certified and members of AST have membership in the NESA. Members of AST have their yearly membership NSA dues paid by AST from their AST membership.
§ We welcome every CST, ST, RN and LPN to every workshop we offer.
§ We encourage certification and membership in AST.
§ We believe there is strength in numbers.
§ We believe that every patient deserves a Certified Surgical Technologist.
Mission
The mission of the Nebraska State Assembly is to provide educational opportunities for the Surgical Technologists in Nebraska. We believe that the patient comes first. The only way to provide the best for every patient is through education and certification.
Our goal is to work toward changing current legislation mandating certification of all Surgical Technologists and educate the public of the profession of Surgical Technology. We want to provide a forum where Surgical Technologists can come together to discuss problems and issues relating to our profession and to network with one another and other health care professionals.
